Welcome. take a seat.

The Kabinett is where German winemakers historically kept the special bottles to share with family and friends. Now we want to share the special bottles with you…

Kabinett is an intimate 45-seat restaurant with Aussie and Bavarian roots and a seriously good wine list at its heart. Voted 2023's Best New Restaurant, Best Wine List, and Most Innovative Cuisine in The Morning Call's Reader's Choice Awards, our international menu is inspired by our team's shared backgrounds and passions, leaning into all things that pair well with wine. This broad global palate extends to our wine list, which showcases an exciting range of Australian, German, European, and coveted international bottles. We also offer classic batched cocktails, top shelf spirits, and a select few Aussie and German beers.

We are open for dinner from 5pm Wednesday to Saturday. On Saturdays we are open from 2pm for bar snacks and drinks; on Sundays we tuck away our regular menu and instead offer a generous 3-course family-style feast for $45 per guest with a theme that changes monthly.

ABOUT US

The duo behind Kabinett is Melanie Hansche and Jason Hoy, expat Australians (and also one German) who have called downtown Easton home for the last eight years. They previously ran Tucker, a vibrant Aussie café and specialty food store in Easton’s Simon Silk Mill. During the pandemic, they pivoted to retail, became Easton’s second largest supplier of fresh produce to food banks, and helped save a local egg farm. Tucker is in hibernation and reopening this summer in a bigger space next to Kabinett as a general store, café, wine store and outdoor beer and wine garden. Jason is a restaurateur and fine wine pro with over 30 years’ experience in hospitality and fine wine retail, wholesale, importing, and marketing. Melanie is a journalist who has worked for over 20 years in magazine and cookbook publishing as a food writer and editor. Her main hustle is as FOOD & WINE magazine’s deputy editor.
